My single mother does this pretty often. She finds a candidate, dates him a couple times to see if the relationship can go anywhere, and when she realizes it won't she just keeps hanging out with them for months after she isn't interested (but they guy still is). She gets favors. accomodations, trips, etc "as friends". One guy painted the house for free and wanted to give us his old TV that was better than the one we had, the other dude took her to travel all over, and the third guy still receives her on his beach house. All as friends in her eyes, even tho it's obvious they show interest.

Unfortunately, We women are not looking so good these last couple of decades. Many of us confuse strength in character with being loud and belligerent. I have learned that silence is louder and more effective. 😉 Keeps the fellas off balance because they may see more of the loud belligerent drama queens.
