Don’t let Stacey watch "These are the days of our lives" because we’re going to lose her in a sea of tears.

The day after Freddie died I was driving to first proper job in Bristol, SW England. They announced Freddie had died on the radio and played bohemian rhapsody and radio gaga back to back. I looked around at the traffic lights, and every one was singing along to the radio in time with a tear in their eye. Everyone. Radio had it's finest

He’s remembering & singing about his childhood:

First verse:
“I'd sit alone & watch your light
My only friend thru teenage nights
And everything I had to know
I heard it on my radio…”

Then fears MTV videos (huge at the time) will replace radio and the next generation will loose ‘something’

Last verse:
“Let's hope you never leave, old friend
Like all good things on you we depend
So, stick around 'cause we might miss you
When we grow tired of all this visual…”

Brilliant. What a song.

I was at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 and we did the clapping thing when they played Radio Gaga. It was magical.

First of all, NEVER be afraid or ashamed of crying, whatever your gender or whatever is. Music is about emotions, and Queen were masters of conveying those emotions. I have not found a single song by this legendary band that did NOT stir something deep in me, even their silliest ones like "Fat Bottomed Girls".

Freddie Mercury was a genuine genius, there are a lot of "myths" and "legends" that will NEVER be confirmed nor negated about him (by deliberate choice), like the story of how he recorded "The show must go on" in one take, after his band mates asked him if he felt like it while literally on his death bed, answering "yeah let's do this", downing a shot of vodka and giving everything while suffering from multiple organ failure.

That band changed the world (and themselves) several times, they STILL have a worldwide impact three decades later, everyone on, in and around this planet has at least heard a couple of lines of at least one of their songs without realizing it ... and their lyrics always have several layers of meaning, hitting deep "right in the feels".

Honestly, ALL their songs are so good they hurt, most often in good ways, but some just tear your heart and soul into pieces.

You really should listen to them all, because they are too beautiful to miss, but be braced, I'm a 50 yo male survivor of PTSD and numerous painful events, and I still cry listening to some songs like the first day I heard them.

Stay strong, enjoy life, and enjoy music.

Your emotional reactions are a mirror of my own. Freddie breaks my heart and makes me happy all at the same time.

Never a need to apologize, Freddie had a energy and passion about him that mortal man can not explain! I've watched Freddie thousands of times and I still get goose bumps and I can't hold back the bitter sweet tears. Us Queenies know all to well those feelings are about. A pure legend 🌈💙🫶👑🕊

Please don’t apologise for being emotional, Stacey.
Freddie gave the world everything he had and he is missed by millions.
I am a 56 year old surfer and I still cry when I see these images of him.
He is keenly missed.
Good on you for sharing your genuine feelings, Stacey.
Few people are brave enough to cry in public.

Back then radio was so important. We would listen just waiting to hear our favorite song. Then when it came on it was magic. The good old days.

Listening to ‘Radio Ga Ga’ by Queen always takes me back to my childhood. The song is a beautiful tribute to the golden age of radio, and it resonates deeply with me. Growing up, the radio was my best friend, always there to keep me company and fill my days with music and stories. Every time I hear this song, it’s like looking into a mirror and seeing my younger self, filled with nostalgia and warmth. Thank you, Stacey, as always, for this unique reaction. And a big thank you to my Mom for her wonderful taste in music and for gifting me the radio when I was 6 years old. It did change my life!" Darn it, I'm tearing up from this reaction too!

Two of the best songs about growing up listening to the radio. This and Rush's 'Spirit of the Radio'.

How lucky we are to live in a time when music videos and recording exist. Freddie and the band will always be the soundtrack to our lives, never forgotten!!.

no need to apologize Stacey, Freddie made music to touch your heart, to touch your life and if he could he would touch and wipe your tears away.

I've just realised that I'm not the only person who cries listening to Freddie Mercury's voice. It really makes a hole in your heart and goes it through so sweetly, so sweetly

I remember the day Freddie died. The day prior, a press release confirmed his illness but no one was surprised, his fans knew. However, the next day came as a shock to me; I had taken the announcement that his health was failing but not that he was, quite literally, on his deathbed. The press was so cruel, what an evil, horrible way to earn a living. For me, Freddie's death amplified the pain the world had been going through for several years. He wasn't the first celebrated person to die of AIDS and he wasn't the last, but he and Queen were special in my life so Freddie's suffering touched me greatly. The turmoil of those years are difficult to put into words. Lives were slipping through our fingers and there was nothing to stop it; the afflicted were blamed for their own demise. Awful. RIP, dear Freddie and every other soul who suffered and died.
