Tricky mirror shot in Christopher Smith's 2009 TRIANGLE

In TRIANGLE's loop narrative there isn't a 'reset': stories loop into each other smoothly. Here's a trick to do so... (nice post-production CGI smudge on the 'mirror' :)

My guess would be that there’s a body double in the foreground and the “mirror” is actually an open space.

What you're seeing in the mirror is the original shot. The mirror is green screened and that shot is layered over the top of the original shot with CGI smudges to give the impression that it's a mirror. Then the camera pushes into the green screen until it's just the original shot visible.

The camera is so small it's nearly invisible and it passes through a pin prick hole in the mirror and it's operated by a man wearing reflective clothes. Obvious. I was there.

this is definitely inspired from that scene in "La Haine"

I don't think its a mirror at all, I think it's a green screen instead of a reflection(different shot ). Very cool trick.

I think its simple just placing a green screen on the mirror and the camera guy gets close to the screen on the mirror until the green screen fills the camera screen. From there you key out the green and replace it with the video.

I think it was first made in The First Contact movie. And Corridor Crew in youtube tells you in detail how it is done on reacts video to good and bad cgi
