The Jedi would go incredible lengths to protect that peace - and in this tragic story, even go as far as to kill their own Padawans.

This is the tale of the Rogue Moon Prophecy, told in the Knights of the Old Republic comics, written by John Jackson Miller.

This story involves the Old Republic era characters Zayne Carrick, Lucien Draay, Q'Anilia, Xamar, Feln, Raana Tey and Krynda Draay, who are all connected to the Rogue Moon Prophecy.

In legends the story of Zayne Carrick inspired Obi-Wan during his exile. Obi-wan learned that you can be a jedi even without a jedi order. And thanks to that he helped the Calwell family.

This story reminds me of a quote from Kotor 2: “Because I hate the Force. I hate that it seems to have a will, that it would control us to achieve some measure of balance, when countless lives are lost.” - Kreia

This story seems very similar to Jacen Solo's visions of the future which in part led him to the dark side. The Jedi Masters here in trying to stop their vision from taking place were also close to going over to the dark side.

In there attempts to prevent this visions, the master's became the architects of there own destruction. It's terrifying what fear can force a man to do and lead to something even worse.

This was like all the Ancient Greek mythologies - people trying to avert the prophecy, only to actually fulfill it with their attempts of changing their fates.

Speaking of which, have you noticed something similar about these stories? They always speak of the prophecies, but never of a catalyst or an event that will make it happen. Almost as if the prophets wanted people to make them happen.

By that time the Jedi do not take their vision of the dark side seriously. That their actions of preventing their vision come true only endangered others, leading to death in their wake. Disney trilogy had Luke controversially do the same thing, which caused his nephew to turn to the dark side, with some dead and some joining him with the Knights Of Ren. In the EU Luke had it right to be cautious instead of killing those that would turn, he help them resist the dark side and have them get better paths without endangering the lives of people caught in the crossfire.

This would be a good plot for introducing the Knights of the Old Republic into the Star Wars Cinematic Universe. It has all the same components, except for the Mandalorian conflict and it's significance in Jedi history, and plot that is quite clever, while also teaching an important lesson about trust in the force and hastiness.
