What I loved was that her hair was in the same style as a child as it was as an adult. Like, she was afraid to change it, because she wants her family to recognize her. Nice little subtle detail

Darth Vader: "Breathing"

Yoda: "It's energy, it's energy".

Luke Skywalker: No"!

Yoda: "Surrounds us, and binds us."

Obi-Wan: "You will be tempted, but you can not control it".

Yoda: "Surrounds us".

Obi-Wan: "The Force will be with you."

Obi Wan says something else but I can't make it out.

Little Rey screaming.

Unkar Plutt: "Quite girl."

Obi-Wan: "Rey"

Obi-Wan: "These are your first steps".

It would've been cool if they included a little bit of Mustafar from Revenge of the Sith before they showed Cloud City. It would've been nice to hear Obi-Wan scream, "You were the chosen one!" or something like that.

She is not stuck there because she had to eat, she is stuck there because she is waiting for her family to come back.

Does anyone notice Palpatine says "any jedi" before it cuts to Rey screaming.

My theory is that everything we see in the force flashback is something Luke's lightsaber was present for. It is what the lightsaber has witnessed.

If you look closer, you'll see that the guy who is killed from behind by Kylo Ren's lightsaber through the torso is actually swinging towards Rey. This would indicate that he is not, as you've said in this video, one of Luke's Jedi trainees, but rather one of the Knights of Ren. If indeed Rey was present as a child at the academy when the massacre took place I think what we're seeing is a suppressed memory of Rey's. She was about to be killed along with the rest of the Jedi trainees but Kylo takes the drastic step of killing one of his own men in order to save her. Why? Perhaps for the same reason he feels the need to later kill his own father. The part of him still clinging to the light prevented him from allowing one of his own family members to be killed. Instead, he uses his abilities to manipulate minds to suppress Rey's memories and leaves her stranded on Jakku with Unkar Plutt to live out her days - alive, but not a threat. I think she is the daughter of Luke, and Luke believed she was killed along with the rest of the Jedi trainees, hence his profound sorrow and need to isolate himself at the first Jedi temple, for his grief and anger at having lost his daughter put him in danger of falling to the dark side himself.

Rey is a natural Force user. That kind of power is more dangerous than a Jedi or Sith, who are Force sensitive but need training to utilise it. Luke knew that she would be nearly unstoppable if she fell to the dark side. That's why she was taken to Jakku. And why Ren & Snoke reacted the way they did when they sensed her power.

I never heard anybody mentioning it but that moment when Luke touches R2D2 with his hand, isn't it that moment when he shuts him down? I believe he escaped, but left a clue in R2D2 (the map to his destination) and this is the moment he makes him turn into 'standby mode' before leaving. Then he somehow was the one who decided when R2D2 could turn back on, when he would accept to be found, when he felt the Force's awakening.

If you read the subtitles during the vision it does specifically use the names Yoga and Obi-Wan referring to the voices in the background. Also, did anyone else notice the structure in the background during the scene where Rey is standing facing the Knights of Ren? When the lightening flashes it's in the top right. Check it out! :)

did anyone notice the building in the background @ 3:22??? just as the lightening flashes there is, what looks like a temple in the back of the massacre scene.

When she saw Kylo and his Knights it was set in the future. It was in Mustafar where Kylo searching for the WakeFinder. The corps were the villagers not Jedi Students. You can see in the background Vader's castle.

I'd hate to see Rey as Luke's daughter, it'd feel too obvious for me, I'd rather it be a relation to obi-wan, or just that she's incredibly force sensitive, and is the reason she can naturally pick up the force so quick, and remember that kenobi was known for his Jedi mind tricks, just like Rey used. I know kenobi would be too old, but just think it's a close connection.

I don't think that guy you see impaled at 3:00 was a good guy. I think he was a bad dude trying to kill young Rey and Kylo likes her and/or is related to her and saved her, and he was actually the one who wiped her memory and left her on Jakku. And the red light you see Kylo fly off into is a symbol of him taking the dark path.

What makes more sense to me than any of the other theries about Rey's parentage is that her parents might well have been students of Luke who escaped the initial slaughter but knew they could not escape the Knights of Ren left her on Jaku in hiding so that at least she could survive while they faced off against them.

It would make sense that all this would happen while Luke is off planet because I believe he would be too powerful for them to face directly, at least in their initial state (especially since Kylo displays lightsaber form that is not as refined as Lukes in Return of the Jedi towards the end of the film - it is more like that in Empire Strikes Back). The shuttle in the scene where Rey is left behind does suggest it would belong to charecters we are not familiar with from the original films.

Another theory I have is that when Luke initially tried to reach Ben/Kylo and bring him back after his betrayal he may well have faced off against Snoke which would explain the scarrring. While being able to injure snoke he could have been forced to retreat when the other Knights of Ren joined the fight.

If you also pause right at 3:22, you can also see a shadow of a palace when the lightning strikes!
