I’m so glad Marvel understands how to write Vision properly. Vision is a hyper intelligent, sentient android. He’s easily the smartest being on Earth. Giving him a giant battle as his finale would’ve been so dumb. A philosophical conversation between him and his evil counterpart is much more fitting for Vision. Also, I like how even White Vision gets confused by the ship of Theseus paradox.

Paul Bettany was absolutely genius casting in this role. His accent, delivery, and intellectual prowess made this character so much more than it needed to be.

I love this scene because it's shaped my own perspective on the Ship of Theseus question, which is that "so long as those who had sailed on the ship could recognize it as such, it is the Ship of Theseus, no matter how many planks are replaced"

Essentially, it's the memories of the crew that make the ship the ship, not the parts that make it up. So long as those memories remain, the ship will always be the ship, no matter if it still has all it's original wood or if it's on it's third set of replacements.

I love that they went the route of a kind of mental competition to finish the battle vs. having one defeat the other in just more violent combat. It elevates them above the primitive idea that all conflict is best solved by aggression, and lends hope to the idea that if they can find intelligent ways to resolve conflict, then so can we.

I don't think enough people are talking about the line "a weapon, to be more easily controlled." It shows that visions true personality cannot be suppressed and his intelligence is far beyond control. He almost instantly recognizes why he is not allowed his original memories and similarly is quick to trust the hex vision in getting back those memories.

The part when he points his finger and says, "It is merely being _kept_ from you." is unbelievably well done! Great stuff!

Something absolutely brilliant they did is that the white one is referred to as project cataract, and a Cataract is something that obscures Vision (biologically) it’s an Easter egg about how the real vision is suppressed inside him… incredible writing

The Hex Vision instantly realizes he can basically bring himself back to life by helping his original Vision form, giving it its memories and such. He knows this when Wanda turns back her spell, and knows they will find each other again.

I’ll still never understand how there wasn’t even a single mention of what happened to Vision during WandaVison in MoM. They really dropped the ball on that one

Color scheme aside, I really like the physical differences between the two.

Vision looks more organic and human while White Vision is more robotic looking and angular. White Vision also does this little mouth quirk thing, almost like a grimace of some sort (It's really noticable at 2:23). Their voices also sound different too and the way they carry themselves while they're floating is very different as well.

The tiny micro expressions he makes between the two visions is amazing to me. White Vision has this slight bend in his upper lip the whole time to indicate almost a lack of empathy. When he gets his memories restored it stops completely. Very subtle genius!
