Whole list in nutshell:
Do you want to protect yourself, or deal some damage?

Most effective medieval weapon? Obviously the holy hand grenade.

When you are fighting a knight in full plate, a can opener can be mightier than the sword.

Imagine humanity in the future, taking about guns the way we talk about medieval wepons

Anyone who's spent any time on historical youtube saw the pole-axe coming from a mile away.

An army marches on its stomach, so clearly the most effective weapon was PASTA

Blunt weapons, I’ve come to find, are very underrated. You can get the fanciest, most expensive, most durable armor money can buy, but all it takes to shut you down is some peasant with a particularly thick branch.

I like that he says everything like we seriously are gonna do it irl

The moment you said "no shields" my immediate response was "poleaxe!"

A mace is still perfectly effective even without armor, one blow from a mace against an unarmored opponent would shatter bone if it hits bone. Blunt weapons can only do more damage against an unarmored opponent than against an armored opponent.

I personally feel that the mace deserved a little more love in terms of damage to unarmoured opponents because it almost doesn't matter where you hit said opponent, you would be able to deliver at least a debilitating blow. I might just be cocky but I imagine a full power strike would certainly break bone which even in the arm or shoulder would critically hamper their ability to offend or defend.

Poleaxe, Yes!
Also honorable mention to a rock in a sock.

My opinion is the anti-armor weapons should be ranked higher. If the opponent doesn't have armor, odds are they aren't a professional soldier and thus your choice of weapon carries less weight.

If you pick a mace and it turns out you're fighting some unarmored farmer, you may not kill him as efficiently as if you had chosen a falchion, but you'll still win. However, if it turns out you're fighting a knight and you hadn't picked on anti-armor weapon, you're dead.

"I prefer thrusts over cuts". Glad to see that ancient Italian tradition is alive and well!

I feel like a mace and a Warhammer would do much better against unarmored opponents than a Falchion would against armor.

If I was facing Matt Easton then my weapon of choice would be my bare hands, so that I'd have as little as possible weighing me down when I run away.

I agree. The pole axe at least gives you stand-off distance from your opponent who, statistically, is riddled with the Black Plague.

I would have to say; Light Saber.
After all that stuff happened a long time ago...

"You can't thrust with a mace"
