I completely understand. I am 75 years old. For the first 60+ years of my life the diagnosis was stupid and or lazy. Thanks for making me feel different not sick or broken.

" Accept that there's just not one way to learn something." Very well said, i really liked your input on such an important topic. This message is so true and so important. Unfortunetly our outdated methods of teaching and learning, many cruel and uninformed teachers and the hypocritical capitalist society we live in is to quick to judge negatively and not accept those who's brains work and fuction differently. This is why for neurodivergent/ neuroatypical adults, teens and kids life in general is more complicated and difficult, adding to the struggles that already exist from being different, leading to other complications like mental health issues. To everyone who is struggling remember that you are not alone, don't give up, hang in there, you've got this and things will get better. 😊

My daughter was diagnosed several years ago with dyscalculia & dyslexia, sensory disregulation & hopefully will get her official adhd dx tomorrow..

I thought she had adhd years ago but bcs she was so physically hyperactive like the boys, the dr we saw said no.. then we were dealing with sleep apnea & tick diseases, both of which can somewhat mimic adhd traits. But now those are controlled & her adhd traits seem more pronounced than ever.

I just got dx’d adhd last week.. thx to my daughter sending me videos about it I realized that was and is me to a T! Wish the psychologists & counselors would’ve recognized it in me when I was a teen instead of focusing on intermittent depressive symptoms that the meds never helped with..
