"enable high DPI support" makes interface look lo-res, but if you disable "Displays Viewport's at high DPI" it will change only viewport resolution but interface will still look sharp

This isn't some magic trick. By disabling the HIDPI support, the resolution scaling will work differently. The level will render at lower resolution, but TSR in UE5 does a good job upscaling. Still though, you won't get as great of a detail as at native res. So you may see more shimmering and ghosting.

This was really helpful thanks I'm using the m1 max too and the difference is night and day.

Where can you download an m1 native version of unreal 5.1?

You should file a bug report for UE. They would definitely want to fix that

Hi, thank you. what do you advice me for my rendering ? my problem is that I am on a Mac M1 and when i'm rendering, the images are blurred . How can I slow down the process to increase the quality ?

well of course --> you were rendering at almost 4K resolution before switching the HighDPI off ^^!

Doesn’t the UI of the Editor now look like ‘garbage’? Or is the text etc still retina sharp?

Have you had issues with opening a project that was originally created on windows? All of my meshes are super low poly when I open the project on my new MacBook.

Thanks very useful tip for my 13-inch m2 MacBook pro. The only problem is that the unreal engine cannot go to full-screen mode. I have to hide the dock and menu bar to make Unreal Engine full-screen on my 13-inch mac every time I use it. Is there any other solution to this?
