Is Resolve specifically designed to be as annoying to import anything as possible? Like wtf an MP3 is literally the standard audio format for any music and Resolve is just like, Nope! Ridiculous. Don't get me started on Webm files. Idk what the thought process is here...

I have a .wav file that is exhibiting the same behavior in Davinci. It's not a naming error. It just won't import. I can play the file fine on Windows Media Player. It's weird. I also made sure no other app was trying to play the same file.

im able to import but when dragging to timeline it vanishes from timeline. Like, it does not appear at all in the timeline but is there in my media pool. Please help

I love how there's so many tutorials for the most specific issues in Davinci. I had no idea emojis were whats blocking it.

Guys, if changing the name doesn't work, just change the file extension to .m4a

Had to convert file to another format besides MP3 for successful import.

Duplicated the file : failure
File had NO emoji's or special characters : failure
I renamed the file : failure
Da Vinci will not even recognize the .mp3 file in the MEDIA tab, in the file directory
Will not allow drag & drop or IMPORT to add audio

Thanks for this! In my case it turned out to be spaces in the filename causing the issue, not emoji (which isn't usually a problem but I guess this time it was? How strange!)

this didn't work but I just rename / change the file type to .mp4 and it imports. no need to change it back to .mp3 because it gives the audio sound still

for me it was because downloading mp3 from ytmp3 makes them wonky, I recorded the playback as an mp3 separately and it worked fine

Nope! It is not always like that. Not every file have emoji. And, it is still not possible to import.

SOLVED?!? I converted the format to MP3 to WAV Online. Idk why but it worked :) Also works if you change it from mp3 to mp3.

I've 400mb mp3 files, renamed it as normal. but still Davinci isn;t showing anything‼

Guys im desperate, NEED HELP!! I have the SFX on mp3, converted to mp4 and nothing, converted to WAV and nothing neither, not sure what to do at this stage. There's no emoji or anything strange.
It's like nothing happening when I try to import it.
