2024 Honda Civic vs 2024 Toyota Corolla: Which Affordable Car Is Best?

Today I compare a 2024 Honda Civic EX-L to a 2024 Toyota Corolla XSE!

This is an easy win for the Civic! More passenger space, more cargo space, more power etc for around the same price! You can use the Civic as a family car or to haul around things, can’t do that with the tiny Corolla!

I would much prefer to have the Civic. It is larger, has more hp and torque, and gets better gas mileage.

I would think the younger people would go for the Corolla. Darting around fun little city car. Have seen people young and old in the new civic. I don't think you could go wrong with either. I got (one) last year.

I went with the Civic more room and power..the only win I see with the Toyota was the cvt is more refined.. it's not all CVT it has a first gear and after that the CVT kicks in..you can't go wrong with either choice tho they're both great compact cars..

The last thing I want is a civic trying to be an Accord. 10 th gen Civic were sportier and smaller, if you want consevative luxury buy something else. It doesnt make sense to keep making Civics bigger, they are now bigger than Accords were in the past.

Corolla Hatch for me but that civic is nice … can’t go wrong either way imo

My only issue with the civic is that its updated wiper/fluid hose design is kinda annoying when trying to pull it up with the hood clearance. I know there's the maintenance mode, but it can be annoying to clean your windshield and have them slide back down. The hose might have problems with freezing in cold weather climates in the US.

It's kinda a non-issue, though. I'd honestly still choose the civic. Better audio, remote start without subscription/app, more power for highway speed/passing, more traditional touch screen, and better cargo/passanger space.

Plan on trying to get a used S. Touring in 25-26 when car prices mellow out a bit more.

I’d pass on the turbo charged and go with the base engine on the Civic.

I like the civic style, which is better, but not everyone wants, desires, or needs a fing turbo.

I am thinking of buying mazda 3 sedan awd with some kms on it do you guys think it would be good choice over corolla and civic only thing i see better in these is more space and resale value

Toyota all the way. Civic looks better but Toyota all the way. My 2015 Civic Sedan has too many problems.

Front leg room, I find the corolla has more leg room, I have never been in a civic but the accord was tight. Im only 6'2

How many times can he say that the civic is a larger car? Need a longer test drive segment. You can't tell anything by going around the block at a top speed of 29 mph.

To me the Civic is just all around better. Power, driving dynamics, size, build quality. I haven’t liked the looks of the Corolla for a while. It’s bottom heavy to me. Also, hate you can’t get a moonroof on the Corolla hatchback. Idk why either.
