2023 Honda Accord vs 2023 Honda Civic review by The Straight Pipes. The 2023 Honda Accord is putting down 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque and the 2023 Civic is putting down 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque from the same 1.5L Turbo 4 Cylinder. At $37,000 CAD($29,060 USD) for the Accord and $33,350 CAD($29,060 USD) for the Civic, would you take the Top Trim Civic or Lowest Trim Accord?

I love that you still do normal car reviews and not just Supercars.

If that Accord could talk I feel like it was just constantly mutter 'I didn't ask to be born'

So glad someone finally did this head to head.

The Taurus, I mean Accord, seems to have been neutered down to fulltime commuter status. Gone are the days of V6s and 2.0Ts, 6MTs and 10ATs, coupes, etc: it's now all about comfort and mpgs. It makes sense; those things sell the most. Just a shame that most of what made the variety in the Accord lineup fun to drive is now gone. Between the two, especially with the nearly equal price, the choice would be a Civic.

The Civic Touring is overall the better package I think, unless you really need the extra space in the Accord. But for 95% of people I think the Civic has sufficient space.

As a Taurus owner, I must say I love the look of the Accord. Makes me feel like my 2012 is brand new again 🥳

2022 Civic Sport Hatchback here. The base sound system really is decent. Averaging ~35.5 MPG over 16.2k miles.

I haven’t even watched this vid yet as it’s just came out but crikey that accord looks like a bored accountant

1:02 The intense drama that plays out in this first roll race is just breathtakingly captivating 💯💥

I must be the oddball. The Accord looks far better to me. Also, factor in insurance cost and the price difference between equal trim levels evens out as the Accord is much cheaper to insure.

I feel like with the civic being bigger now, and Honda making the accord worse in this gen, they've basically signalled they want to kill the accord. Which is tragic because the Accord has always been a great sedan.

Don’t know why people bash the new Accord design. I was sold on the Civic until I went to the Honda dealer and actually seen the two next to each other in person. The accord caught my eye and I ended up with a 2023 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid in Urban Gray Pearl. Couldn’t be any happier with my decision! Love my new Accord!

Man the older accord, looks so much better than the new one - much more premium materials on the interior too

This review made me realize I MISS THE BOX TEST. You guys should bring it back, especially for any vehicle with a hatch back.

Top trim of the Civic all day. Too bad Honda won't give the Touring sedan a manual anymore (I don't care for the hatchback).

From the American Perspective, the Accord might look underwhelming from the front, but undeniably it looks elegant and more mature from the European/Universal aspect. I am booking the Hybrid E-xl soon.
Thanks again for the fabulous review.

The neutering of the Accord makes sense when you look at how Honda is making an Acura push. When the Accord got the 2.0t there was pretty much no point to pay the premium for the Acura TLX. Now Honda has some leverage to upsell people into a TLX if they want the power.

I still find it crazy that your basic entry-level car can cost 30k. No wonder everyone is doing 8 year car loans or going into debt
