@TheDishD You're too kind my friend:) It's a great looking knife IMO, but yes MT has used some unconventional methods to the liner lock. I guess they want to be different... As for QC, this will be the last MT I buy for a while. I've still got another two Microtech models to review. I'm glad you like the comparison charts, a lot of people asked me to bring it back so here they are! Thanks for watching!

I am not sure how this video slipped between the cracks but I'm glad I caught it. Very interesting design, I could see this thing offering some great utility in addition to its more purpose built tactical role. Epic intro there DC, I don't think I've ever seen such an impressive collection of Microtech blades!

@Schmidt54 This knife does share some similar features and shapes of the XS. As for the QC, I think this will be the last MT I buy for a while, if I buy another at all. I still have the Ultratech and the Combat Troodon to review. I did wish that MT would make their knives easier to maintain by using conventional hardware. Thanks for watching sir!

@Donbeiren The looks of this knife is what really caught my eye at first and after watching Oromoto's review I decided to pick one up. I was going for a Kestrel but went with this and I'm glad too, I really like the SF-M. Thanks for watching:)

@TheEnglishRedneck45 I hear ya! It's just one more part that could go wrong. The problem is that the liner lock is not bent under tension, it's just a straight piece hence the need for the spring. If MT had used a longer liner and bent it in the traditional fashion then it would have saved that spring. It's a radical looking knife IMO, but you're right, extra parts are not always good. Thanks for watching:)

@TheEnglishRedneck45 Thanks man! I've had a lot of people liking that idea, so I decided to bring it back in a more compact form:) Thanks for your kind words! Anything to help out my fellow knife addicts!

@jobytoss Basically has the same design elements, yes:) A lot of people have said that on other vids and I totally agree. IMO, I think for pure functionality, go with a Strider, it is more pricey but the simple construction and the lighter weight would serve you better:) Thanks for watching!

@M0DiFiEDZ Thanks! The Select Fire M is not a bad knife, it is on the pricey side, but what MT isn't lol. I really like it, it's heavy and solid built! Thanks for watching!

My Select Fire came in the mail today. It is definitely unique.

@MyChaos71 You have a point, it's always nice when manufacturers don't add more moving parts to a knife. I would have preferred a simple, traditional liner lock. But so far it's held up, I'm just worried that if one was to use this in the field whether or not the spring would be gummed up with dirt/grit, etc and fail.

When I first received this knife the pivot was a bit stiff, but after a while of opening and closing, the pivot got a lot smoother. So there was a bit of a break in time for mine.
