Microtech Tactical Select Fire Knife M/A Folder: My Thoughts

A close look at my Microtech Select Fire.

This Tactical Select Fire-M has a black anodized aluminum handle with carbon fiber inserts (front) and tip-up pocket clip (back). The nested locking liner tab is slick and functions solidly. The black finished S35-VN stainless blade is reverse tanto styled with a plain cutting edge and over-sized thumb studs. The blade features an index choil for choking up and notched thumb placement on the spine.

love this folder, handles like a razor, long handle short blade. already on my "love list".

my question is to the knife community as to why its considered something bad if the blade is not rubbing on the handles...why is it viewed as something bad? I have been reading about knives for almost 2 decades and never once read or talked about blade centering up until 2 years ago on youtube...The lock tolerances are spot on with this knife thats whats important to me, perhaps centering isnt a concern on a folding knife, my question to you is why do you consider it negative?

Great review Blaze! I know exactly what you mean as far as spending your hard earned money on something that will then get scratches on it. You cant take the knife to the grave with you so use use it if you like it! In my opinion, it adds character and gives you a higher level of appreciation for it when you use a knife for how it was designed to do.

Man, you know for a while I couldn't figure out why these knives were so big, but I think I'm realizing that they just have kinda a different, or as you said "space age" look to them.

I like your philosophy of knives are meant to be used. I also like to buy and collect knives but I carry them all. I am a little hesitant to get that first scratch but after that it's good to go.lol it's almost a relief to get that first scratch in them cuz after that I actually think marks adds character. Especially Sebenzas look so much better well worn imo

how does an off centered blade effect the performance of the knife? I understand it might bother some but do you find it to be a problem? if so why?

Nice blade, , I hear ya on using your knives, I don't chop down trees or anything like that either with mine, but cardboard boxes and plastic zip-ties/clam shells quiver and shake when they see me comin, LOL.
