This video shows you how to update your Lowrance Fishfinder/Chartplotter. If you are not sure, you can check with your unit with the built-in WIFI or check on the website if there is an update for your unit.
I first check it with my unit, and did the update manually. Simple and fast.

If hold your finger on the negative battery terminal the touch screen works perfectly needs earth but when fitted to your boat it earth to ground or water

You need to calibrate the touch screen...Turn it off.  Then hold the WP button (Flag icon), then turn the unit back on while still holding the flag button until you hear the double beep. Calibration screen will come up.

Iam sure you know by now you need touch ground for screen to work right

yes the touch screen really suck. my main complaint with the unit is too light to use as an achor :)

I downloaded the latest update and the unit accepted it. I also purchased and downloaded the latest charts put the SD card in and no charts at all. Any help would be appreciated

I just updated my Elite Ti with the version 4 firmware. Now after booting up I get about a minute of use then the screen goes bonkers and displays flashing rainbows. Any one else had this problem?

It's not the touch screen, it doesn't work right out of water.

Do you have to do the update with the mini sd only or can you update it thru WiFi?
