The RhinoWalk Horseshoe luggage on this Bear 650 is very nice. Notice how it won't trap our legs when we drop the bike or put a leg down when we shouldn't. 👍
If a person sticks to riding on the road none of this matters.
I try to keep weight low in the bottom portions but pack them as lightly as I can get by with. I'm trying to lighten up my tire kit and emergency battery and compressor. I think I'm there on the tire kit and compressor but I can't seem to get away from the weight in a good emergency battery. I imagine the RhinoWalk horseshoe bag has inner bags that can just be pulled out, emptying the contents quickly. Thats how the Giant Loop, Mosko Moto, and Wolfman luggage I've used work. Again, handy for those times I've dropped the bike, just pull the bags lightening the bike for the lift.
When all I rode were Harleys we never thought about tank bags but they are so handy to have your stuff where you don't have to get off the bike, you can display a map, and probably most importantly, you can distribute some weight back to the front suspension to improve handling.

Definitely need oil cooler guard & headlight protector first then bash plate.I've stones flick up & crack headlight on Interceptor & lense was only $10 cheaper than whole headlight bucket so got that & being RE only cost $130nz.
Triumph or Harley or Honda etc headlight cost $500 atleast to replace. That headlight guard you showed ain't gana stop much the gaps are yo big Hitchcocks & probably Bax6have a mesh style one that'll stop all stones & you just loosen the bolts on side to lower headlight guard to wash headlight very good design those RE one's are more for style than protection.
Powerbronze do clear Sperspex type headlight protector which sticks on by 3M double sided velcro squares & is minimalist in looks barely noticeable for about $40 nz but not sure if they do them for RE but probably do.I put Power Bronze Headlight protector on my Trident & Speedtwin 900 cause Triumph headlights are real expensive especially TFT type.
So I would get Hitchcocks mesh wire type or Powerbronze type Headlight protector nothing is getting through & easy to wash bugs off headlight.
