If you can’t see the old m.2 or source disk you might have to take it out and move it to a secondary m.2 spot on your mother board like I did. Or take it out and connect it externally and install your new m.2 internally. I don’t really see anywhere except for a the forum talking about laptops

Wonderful content very spot on. This is exactly how to give information. I am confident i can use this information to do my SSD RAM upgrade myself. Thanks alot.

Also i want your advice. I want to move from 8Gb RAM 2400MHz (Samsung) to 16Gb RAM 3600MHz (Crucial) is this adviced ? Or can i have both RAM sticks in there running together at the same time giving me 24Gb (2400MHz - 3600MHz) 🙏🏽

It clones the drive for Win10, but doesn't make it bootable, so the system can't find it. Ultimately their support suggests, reinstalling windows to fix the badly made clone. Afterward getting frustrated with them I tried Macrium Reflect which worked perfectly the first time.

Question--i think you answered this in the middle but it was a little confusing --Should I put the new Sabrent SSD in the faster M.2 slot before doing anything with Acronis? I'm pretty sure x570 MOBO doesn't have any problem with booting from the second slot; I've done it in the past; also I turned off secure boot and it's been on UEFI mode without legacy for a few weeks now with correct partitions for windows 11 and UEFI.

On Win 11, my 4 tb m.2 drive is detected, but after restart and the prep I get the message "one or more of your removable drives may not have started at the moment - don't have any drives set as removable nor do I have USB sticks in the ports. What's happening here?

i don't have two m.2 slots in my laptop but i bought an axagon enclosure that supports both sata(main os drive originally) and the new nvme.

Can i clone with acronis on the new m.2 nmve with the original m.2 SATA allready installed in laptop? if i would reverse this (and install the empty new drive in laptop) would i be able to boot from the usb enclosure or workaround to boot from another usb stick with a bootable acronis image? would the latter be preffered?
thank you in advance

I'm attempting to clone my 512GB NVMe to a 4TB NVMe and as soon as I get to "Preparing..." it keeps making me restart my PC. When I restart, nothing happens. I've already backed up the 512 drive. Not sure what the deal is...

How do you keep the HDD in place and set the NVMe SSD to boot?

Acronis True Image does not properly clone an NVME drive on Windows 10. The cloned NVME drive will not boot properly even thought Acronis reports the clone was successful. Anyone else have this issue and know a fix?

is it manditory to unplug the previous hard drive you used to boot on from the motherboard if you clone your system on the new nvme intended to be the new main boot disk?
