I usually try to find somehow a kind word to say or seek to be respectful towards the other person. It doesn't always work because there are simply some folks who choose to be unreasonable no matter what especially online but I've had many calm down and turn there bitter rage around.

From more of a selfish pov, when I've found hunor in the situation, it's like wearing an emotional bullet proof vest. The whole fiasco becomes ridiculous. (May rile the other person up though, be warned!) 😂
