Absolutely love the story of the barbarian telling the DM: “I cast Fireball.”

The DM tells the barbarian he doesn’t know Fireball, and the barbarian says but the wizard does.

The wizard just had their turn like 2 turns prior to the barbarian and the barbarian says he wants to intimidate the wizard to cast fireball immediately.

In short the barbarian cast fireball.

This reminds me of a time when my party's wizard cast a fireball, with the BBEG making his save, but that didn't really matter since we were in a tavern. So the proceeding blast from ALL the alcohol blew up leveled the whole building, almost killing us all, but at least we got the BBEG

It doesn't matter if you're a cleric with access to fire spells, a sorcerer of red or gold draconic ancestry, an evocation wizard, or even the most save or die focused spellcaster who would never think of using a direct damage spell even if their lives depended on it. It doesnt matter if you rolled 1d4 for your health, or only just recently got into 5th edition. If you have access to fire ball and you didnt shed a tear, then you have no soul.
