I'm 70 years old and the Doors are still my favorite group. I can still remember when the radio stations just played the short version of Light My Fire. so that's all I thought it was. when I got the album and heard the long version of Light My Fire for the first time, it just blew me away. I still get a thrill to this day when I hear Light My Fire and many of the other Doors songs.

From 1:17 to 5:53, the first real, extended jam in rock. But then again, The Doors debut album was a total revolution in rock. Every song on it was a masterpiece, in its own right. As for the album as a whole, It raised the bar of what rock was, and could be, to new heights! Absolutely stunning!!!

I want to get in a time machine and go back in time so bad to the 1960's, and also the 1970's.. I've been a Doors/Jim Morrison fan since 1967 as a 5th grader. What a time that was - what a great period for rock and pop music, especially the '60's.

This is one of the best examples of 1960s Psychedlia -- a fantastic amalgam Classical, Jazz and Spanish influences, which is what Psychedelic music is all about. Morrison's lyrics are the stuff of legend. This one moves just right -- then as now. I've got a lot of great memories associated with this tune. Jim (RIP) Ray (RIP)

I was 11 years old when this album was released. My brother was 17. We were tight. Before headphones were being used. He had me lay down on his bedroom floor and put one speaker on either side of my head. I remember it like it was yesterday. The 70s were crazy/magical. Wouldn’t change a thing. RIP Jim. 😢❤
