Is this the worst skincare trend 2023 going viral on tiktok, i think it might be and this is why i want to share with you why you shouldnt be mixing your skincare.

Drunk elephant does it because all their skincare is combinable. And putting mixed smallest amount of THEIR products is better than layering a bunch of stuff because the skin takes a while to absorb skincare. Drunk elephant has even said that they suggest only mixing their products with each other because they avoid silicones and yea.

I feel the vit c mix with the moisturiser was good for my skin as when I directly apply the vit c my skin is getting irritated.

They use it a a branding technique because 1 there is a little pallet to mix it on 2 all their products are biocompatible meaning they can mix and still work as each product should 3 it save time so instead of putting on 2-3 serums and your moisturizer which is time consuming you can just mix it into one application and 4 their products are meant to treat you skin by the day because they don’t believe in skin types they thing your skin changes from day to day or week to week or month to month etc.

When I see their smoothie recipes I apply the products one at a time and layer them instead of this messy mixing technique!

Finally! I found people who agree! Making skincare smoothies may be “trendy” but there is a specific order for you skincare for a reason! Just like if you put moisturizer b4 everything else, it won’t work properly. We need to tell people this!

Drunk elephant, absolutely wrecked my skin. I don’t know if it’s because I’m just too sensitive for it or what but mixing all their serums and creams together only dried out my skin I need those layers of hydration to be separate skin is like a sponge you want to layer things, especially hydrators it’s the most stupid marketing I’ve ever seen

The are also products/chemicals that either may nullify or decrease the action of other components or increase it and cause irritation or even burns. I don't understand this trend of playing chemists at home with something they will put on their face without knowing what they are doing.

The brand you're showing tells you to mix them. That's part of the usage instructions. The problem is really that they drop all the mix-ins onto the top of the cream and it gets into the cream. A better way would be to blend it on a stainless steel makeup palette, a small dish, or the back of your hand. And always with a washable spatula. That you wash. Because it's your face we're talking about.

It’s a trend because Drunk Elephant used it as a gimmick and has been pushing “smoothies” for ages. Now it’s finally catching on. I used thier products for years before they had body products and hair stuff and I looked great! I never did this mixing crap! It’s just not as nice to me! 😊

I don’t do this at night, and in the morning I do it with only bubble mosturizer and bronzing drops and b-hydra and it’s smooth and I put it on before makeup. It is actually pretty good 👍🏻

yeah no girl they literally promote it themselves and they make products that are safe to mix together

Drunk Elephant literally tells you to do this with their product and even gives recommendations for which products to mix to create a “skincare smoothie”. Now, I wouldn’t recommend mixing other random products/brands together but all DE products are formulated to be mixed with other DE products

Hey, you do have a good point but Drunk Elephants youtube channel has confirmed before that it is perfectly safe to mix the products together and that sometimes it can make the skincare more effective!! No hate to your channel, just wanted to clear that up😊

Wow what a waste. Drunk elephant tells the kids to mix all of this to sell more products. Im really not sure why a 15 year old needs to worry about anti aging. SPF is all you need at such a young age. These kiddos are throwing money away! I do use two products from DE, but the rest of it not for me.
