Good but actually there's an option were you can enable apps from unknown sources and then you can download the original YouTube App.

Why is it that with the Amazon app, when you hit the back button it takes you to the beginning or top of youtube and not from where you left off? Is there a setting for this?

This is not the real youtube app, you will lose your subscription, such as youtube premium.
The best way to install the official youtube app from youtube is to extract the APK of the official youtube app and install, but everytime youtube has an update, we have to do it again.
