Even though it's simple when you know it, if you don't know what is what on the Army Combat Uniform then you may have no clue what is going on. This is second video in a 4 part series where I will explain what you need to know about the Army uniforms and what the "things" on them mean.

Its worth noting that the SF patch is like the ranger or sapper tab in the respect that once earned you can wear it with any patch Regardless of component.

Very interesting for someone like myself who has never served. Thank you for your service. I remember as kid seeing my father's Army Basic Training graduation photos and he had Navy Dolphins on his Army uniform. He had inlisted in the Navy and was on a sub prior to inlisting in the Army.

As a decorated Army Combat vet of the Vietnam War after rotating back to the world (sneaking back in), I threw my fully dressed uniform in the garbage later on. What the hell no welcome home for our troops then and almost ashamed to wear it walking down the street.

Another badge awarded for combat action, specifically for field medics is the CFMB (Combat Field Medic badge.) Looks like the CAB but with a litter and caduceus symbol in the center, and wreath around it. The medic badge in your video is the EFMB - expert field medic badge, which is a qualification badge that is earned by passing a test, much like the EIB - expert infantryman's badge.

To explain a bit better: If someone has an Airborne tab that is apart of their unit patch, then that means that that unit is Airborne qualified. However, you specifically are not apart of that unit, you are just assigned to that unit. For instance, someone wearing an MP Brigade unit patch on their left shoulder. Doesn't mean that they are a Military Policeman, they could, but generally does not mean they are what the patch is,

We call the ones without the airborne wings on the chest “legs”. Airborne don’t have legs they have landing gear ;)

my waiver got approved and I enlist on February 7th, didn’t pick a job yet because the choices weren’t great. I’m waiting till Monday, I wouldn’t have known to do that without watching your videos. Thank you for everything you do for the future soldiers. And God Bless you

You've got a stacked uniform. I appreciate your service. I'm not joining back up. Good luck out there, sir.

Thank you for this. My son is in. the Air Force, and is coming to visit. I retired many years ago, and so I boguht a new uniform to wear to meet him. Instead of the new Pinks and Greens I bought the Multicam, but was worried I would place something wrong. So now I get to tease him properly, and make him salute me. :)

Matt, thank you for your service. Very informative video, but where I think it could've been improved a great deal is if you had an actual ACU/OCP uniform shirt with all the patches and badges on it. Showing pictures of a patch and then pointing on your black t-shirt where each would go (if you had the uniform on) is kind of insufficient. Military rules on patch/badge placement are often exacting and so it would've been more illuminating to have seen these things on an actual uniform.

Nice video as always again. The difference between the infantry and non infantry combat badges were interesting!
