The Army is getting new uniforms that make look familiar. The olive green is inspired by the uniforms worn by soldiers during World War II. David Martin got a look.

As a Marine I always wondered why they had “dress blues”. This ‘new’ uniform is sharp and I hope they keep it indefinitely. Gotta love the classics!

That uniform looks way more "Army" than the others. I think they're awesome.

I was in the Army from 1991 through 2015. We went through two uniform changes during that era. I liked the Army green uniform (more professional-looking of the two), but disliked the blue uniform; thought it looked like a parade-ground uniform. A few years before I retired, they gave us a survey about our preference as the future uniform. Hands down, I chose the WWII era uniform that the Army has now been accepted. I started out wearing the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) for duty-use. Later, the Army switched over to the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) in the Universal Camouflage Pattern which shading reminded me of the WWI German army uniform; didn't like that either. I am proud to have worn the uniforms we had, but I would have really like to have had this new uniform.

They should bring trench coats too. Let's face it, ww2 military uniforms were the greatest fashion ever invented.

I love it! My dad was in WWII and when I look at the old pictures I am in awe of his uniforms. And trust me, I was United Stes Marine Corps recruiter so I know what a good looking uniform is.

Sharp, Army's old look is now a new look. Always thought those WW2 uniforms just had more style and class.

The United States Army has the " Pinks and Greens" of World War II, however, the Dress Blues harkens back to the Civil War and the Indian Wars.

Sad that Germany will probably never be able to bring back theirs as it was a sexy uniform but will have a lot of controversy

It would be nice if they visited WWII vets wearing those

Marine uniforms are still the sharpest. But yes this is an improvement

This uniform most definitely brings back the way the army should look!

People don't understand how important it is for each brach to have distinctive uniforms. Especially the cover uniform that each branch is represented in; weather that's Dress Blue Bravos in the Marines.

Or the classic Pinks and Greens look for the army, uniforms are a significant part of the service.
