Fun fact, something similar to this happens in ds3 when you put on a helmet like the dancers helm with its own space with the wolf knight chest plate. The cloak like collar of the armor gets canceled out by the helmet. Try it out,

Personally, I think the greatest shame is when you try to make a top heavy character, and the game gives you an ass so big, it sticks out with any armor that has a cape or is robes. The only exception to that is the heide knight armor thankfully.

The infantry set has it so the gloves remove the elbow pads completely.
