I think I fell in love... With the simplicity of the Swiss grammar 😁

In standard German we also mainly use the perfect form for talking about events in the past. Ok, we do have an imperfect form which is mainly used in the written form or for facts. In standard German we also use mainly the present tense for planned activities in the near future. In this way, it's not different either. We use werden + Infinitive when there is a clear future intention or medium and long term future context behind. That seems to be different. In these rwo contexts, I think, the explanation are too simplified. Thank you for the interesting explanations.

I would say swiss german has four tenses. :)
There are also two futur tenses, even if you can use the present.
Ich werd & Ich gohn go
But there are also quite simple.

In Austria we are also using wo/wås and in Standard German one can also hear mixed forms like "die was".

Dia Khåtz, wo/wås nia nit an Fogil fånget.

Dr Boum, wo/wås ållawail bliaret.

Traditional English Grammar includes 12 tenses. This number is supported by many linguists of specialized web sites.

2:34 I also double the word „laa“ (lassen/to let). For example „Ich laas la choche“ (Ich lasse es kochen/I let it cook).

Should I learn Standard German or Swiss German?

Normally you use the present perfect instead of the perfect and the present perfect for the future in Standard German.

sounds like a completly different language, swiss can clearly understand germans/austrians or vice-versa? what about germans/austrians, can they clearly understand swiss? just curious, if anyone can help me clarify that, I would appreciate

This is a really useful video to summarize all these things in one place. Well done! I find plurals in Swiss German to be a little bit tricky, probably one of the things I struggle with the most. Only one of my Swiss German books even discusses it, most of the books just ignore it.
