This movie teaches us if you just work all the time and don't have time for the people you love. You will end up alone or dead. That's why it's important to get close to the people that really love you.

Who else is loving the fact that Dr. Frasier Crane is getting therapy advice from a newly minted-therapist😂😂🤣😂

0:46 Every time someone yells for "Rachel" I have flashbacks of Harvey Dent screaming her name as Batman dragged him out of that warehouse!

This movie takes a real life trauma and reduces it to a single conversation with a good cry. It does a dis-service to all children who have been abandoned and emotionally abused by their parents. The viewer, along with the daughter, is encouraged to forgive the offending parent (forgiveness is great) but is then asked to take pity on the offender and to give up positive life events for the offender. It is basically encouraging and continuing the emotional abuse the child has been caught up in all along. No child who has been abandoned by a parent has the power to deny that parent when the parent gets lonely, is sad, and needs company. It takes advantage of a traumatized and wounded individual rather than empowering them to care for themselves while being forgiving. To reduce the experience of heartache and forgiveness (which in reality would take a life-time) down to a single conversation plays on the un-realistic dreams and scenarios all abandoned children play through their mind daily for years and continue to wound themselves with into adulthood. This film also makes no mention of how the trauma of abandonment has devastating affects on the child's ability to relate to others, maintain relationships, and enjoy long-term commitments for the rest of their lives. This is a story written by people who have observed abandonment and trauma and not by those who have lived it. A complete miss in understanding the complexities of the experience. Lastly, a true work of cinematic art would not try to resolve such a difficult story in an hour and a half. Find ways to respect the story and those who have experienced it without reducing it to an easy resolution and feel-good comedy. The final product has the effect of telling those struggling with this experience to "get over it." Oh my God, the most insensitive thing you could communicate to such individuals.

"Ohh la la" probably one of the greatest ever written. It makes everything better.

The desk tantrum was one of my favorite scenes because who hasn't had a moment they wanted to do that! I loved the movie and it touched my heart personally because of some stressful situations in my life. I want more movies like this!

One, Kristen Bell!
Two, that "Anyone who knows what love is" melody at the beginning though.

Love this easy going movie. Easy going, but still runs deep in my emotions. Probably because I have a daughter about the same age like this character. Thank God, my story is not about abandonment. Quite the opposite: got lucky to be around my girl the whole of her life. The Best thing I ever had. And fortunately still have: today was my birthday. And my daughter made it so special and great.
I'm so thankful I have such a great daughter. This movie reminds me of her when she's not around. Warmth around my heart.🥰

Watching it a second time as I write this comment. I'd give a standing ovation to this very well-written movie that is more of a documentary on my own father/daughter relationship. The main stars didn't act well at all. Nope. They expressed and conveyed their scenes so damn well to the point that I was enthralled and had forgotten that I was home on the couch watching a movie. True. I had a focused tunnel vision of sorts by the sheer struggle between Kristen Bell, the daughter, reconnecting with her dad, Kelsey Grammer. Did you notice her say, "Hey, dad, " at 1:27:30 in the movie? I did and could feel my breathing stop for just that moment to take it in. He looked so alone as she was walking away and overwhelmed by the entire goal of simply having her accept his apology. As she turns to say that to him, I didn't hear anything in my home or notice any other senses . . . but of how I paused my breath and leaned towards the screen ever so slightly straining to capture his response. No thumbs up or 5 star rating of any kind for these main actors and all the rest of those cast in the movie. This isn't a movie in the entertaining sense of a movie, but it's the letter not written but started a hundred times. If as the daughter or father, you can't find a way to start a similar letter as this character mentions, then take a baby step towards your own reconnection and regaining of fellowship by sharing this very link with whomever you can't write to. Let this movie "say it" for you. Promise one another to watch it on your own time, without distractions, and with the comfort of knowing that you're finally, I mean FINALLLY, taking a step. Much applause from this audience of 1 towards Kelsey Grammer and Kristen Bell for . . ., well, . . . for expressing the lines and not acting.

Loved Kelsey Grammar in Fraiser. Saw the sitcom all the way thru at least 3 times! He isn’t in enough stuff lately. Hoping this will help jump start something for him.
