If anyone has doubts about this movie, I would recommend watching it. It's a great film about Japan's cultural views and a story between two families that are put into a situation where there isn't a clear answer to the problem.

I teared up in more than a few places during this film. It had more emotional impact than any Marvel or blockbuster movie I have seen in a while. The director finds ways to really connect his flawed characters and imperfect situations to the audience. Definitely watch it.

This is a BRILLIANT movie. I have my own copy and watch it when I need a spirit lifter. I only 'got' the signicance of the scene at the nurse's home after a couple of viewings. She had somehow worked through the rejection from her step children to the close bond she now had. 'She's my mother' are probably the most simple and effective of all the important messages. I wonder if the evolution of her own family had forced the nurse to reflect on what she had done.

i didnt get to finish the last part when ryota tried to apologize to keita... it felt too overwhelming for me and i had to walk out.... i understand now why war veterans walked out when they watched saving private ryan in the cinemas.
