Not every landlord is wealthy. This is going to destroy them even more.

Everybody's hiring, I don't understand how people aren't paying their rent.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for the lazy **** who hasn't paid his rent for months on end? This is ridiculous.

This is going to be catastrophe when it hits.

Good intentions are going to create chaos in the rental market. Additionally so many apartments are in fact mom-n-pop owned and represent in many cases an investment for retirement; no moratorium for them to pay the loan, property tax, insurance and the many other costs involved. Totally ill-advised not to mention painfully unfair. Imagine the woman in this video having done everything to hold on until the stated July deadline only to be told it's been extended again. It's criminal IMO besides being simply unjust and unfair.

🤷🏻Showing videos clips of apartment buildings from New York City is strange for a news story that is taking place in Los Angeles.🤔Hmmmm.

Poor Angel has no money right now, even though there are more jobs available than any other time in history. I will never rent any of my homes out.

Another bad idea. Not a solution to anything, just putting off the inevitable.

Extending the moratorium will just make it worse. If they don't pay rent at the end of the month, they won't pay it in Sep. either. Just a game to give the average low-life a free place to stay.

Is very great idea 👍, thank you municipality of los angeles for doing this, I really support the extending of the moratorium because I have friends, honest people, that are looking for jobs on line, filled up the application but they never were called to work 👎, and other are working part times ! Really ? In California where everything is above the clouds (gasoline, rent, etc ) .

With Gascon as LA's DA, murder is legal now, isn't it? I think landlords can chip in for a hitman, if trying to go low key.

I'm confused .... Did the reporter just say that this man has only two weeks to figure out how to pay his rent....

This is getting ridiculous! There are so many non working abled bodied ppl congregating under one roof. These are the same ppl going out to eat, shop, and spend! What about the landlords who need to pay their bills??

I mean I myself could not live in a place I dont pay rent...I would at least give payments.... Landlords have bills as well...And not all landlords are rich!!!

More properties for Blackstone to scoop up. Drive out all small scale landlords until everyone is a renter.

I think everybody that has not paid their landlord. the state that wants to extend the moratorium they should have to pay the landlords the rent . Its is not right.

Why extend it if they are just going to get evicted anyways? Just prolonging it and they will still owe right?

How can rental property values continue climbing despite being on the brink of socialization? Once the government socializes private property, doesn't the return on investment of the property go to zero and therefore the value as an investment property also goes to zero? Why would someone pay to own a property that someone else gets to live in for free? Even if the tenant is evicted, the income still remains at zero. If the income of tenants decreases, the income of landlords must also decrease, therefore the value of their properties must decrease.
