$10 Upgrade For Your GoPro | Must Have GoPro Accessory

Here is a simple $10 upgrade for your GoPro that will save you some aggravation. This 3rd Party frame for the GoPro Hero 5/6 Black allows you to open an remove the side charging door while in the frame. This allows you to charge, connect to a power bank or plug in a microphone with out having to take the GoPro out first. Because it has the exact same form factor this frame will work with the new Hero 2018 as well. This is definitely on my 2018 must have GoPro accessories for 2018.

definitely a very convenient case but from my experience i would advise never to use this case when using the gopro during any water activites as one could accidently open the side door which is prevented by the standard housing.

Yep. Purchased that very case a couple of months ago. Then I Dremeled and sanded the top to glue on a cold shoe for an external mic. Works well.

Nice little addition, but I own a small Dremel, so I decided to cut out some of the housing to open that door. When this housing breaks, I’ll buy this one.

0:45 I’ve got the exact same frame and they are cheap as anything. The plastic that holds the wire in place connected to the lifting door to open the case broke in a few days and then one of the bottom mounting pin holes broke off a few days later

Awesome I use my GoPro to make videos for my channel this will be very handy I will have to buy the microphone adaptor this will be awesome a lot easier to charge the camera while driving thank you for the video

Just got a new hero 6 yesterday and in doing some test videos, with that stock frame, the sound quality is strange and the grip I mount the GoPro on seems to generate noise that is picked up in the audio. I see some holes on the 6 and the one on the top right seems to be blocked off by the GoPro frame. Any thoughts? And thanks for this great find. Ordering one today!!!

the main problem is we cant water proof the gopro after removing the door, so i can use it to record my bike ride.

I can see why GoPro did that. Besically it's harder for water to get in. Technically it should be waterproof anyways, but a possibility of water damage is still a possibility... This original case is a simple risk-reducer :P
