Ever thought that compacts, with those tiny little things we call sensors, have the similar sized bodies than this? Nikon obviously could have made it small then you would complain you can't hold it. Which do you prefer size, or hand aches?

I have to agree the Nikon 1 series are a brave step (forward?) but I see that Jessops (etc) are already offering BIG discounts which surely were never part of Nikon's sales plan. I feel that the APS-C is simply better and if/when Canon go this route Nikon will look increasingly like having produced a duff range of 'future' cameras. If so expect much rowing back, similar to that of VW would now claim their failed NEW Beetle was always 'retro' and the NEW NEW Beetle is in fact the real deal....

Yeah Nikon 1 series...yeah like the Pentax Q one of the biggest issues is PRICE

It is very high priced. And really the size.. at least the Pentax Q was cutely small. I call that a success in making things smaller. Even the lenses. But the Nikon 1 lenses are.. eh.. well ..APS-C sized. Why? Are we going to see lenses that actually are made for the size soon? Or are they going to keep sticking APS-C sized lenses on it!
