I bought a used J1 with the kit lenses (10-30mm and 30-110mm) in ‘21 to test the mirrorless waters. I was so impressed with that little guy and the mirrorless concept that I later purchased the Z50. I’m keeping the J1, and plan to get an FT1 so I can rock my F-Mount lenses.

@heratus007 exactly, the nex looks to be amazing but the lenses are just as big as your DSLR which defeats the purpose and prob why nikon went small.

Nikon 1 V1 is the coolest camera I've tried. The AF, FPS, and movie mode are just insane. Very nice vid Jared, glad you actually gave it a try before giving your thoughts, which I couldn't agree more. Whoever bashes this system without even using it, or just think that bigger sensor is all that matters for EVERYONE, is an idiot.

One question. At the preview they showed Nikon 1 in A LOT OF DIFFERENT COLORS. How come I only see black, silver, white, red and sometimes pink in the stores. Plus the ones that you can find in the stores are actually matte-like. While the ones at the press have more of a metallic feel to it.

@mepickulongtime pros utilize the 10 fps in a different way. They hit a burst here a burst there on certain action they see at least thats how I do it if needed. Take 2 or 3 quick ones at most but not 10 a second.

Bro - I'm looking for a camera for my wife who wants to escape the point and shoot, but I'm 100% positive that she isn't going PRO. This is a PHENOMENAL review. More importantly, your take on the fact that the average consumer doesn't GET, nor CARE about all of the technical jargon - spot on. I'm in real estate and we've learned the same in our business. Keep on rocking, this is great stuff.

@bkushner4 there are plenty of people with money to spend on this stuff. Also the images are actually very good. Plus these are pretty much point and shoot shots in auto because I didn;t have time to fully set the camera yet. The video is also AMAZING with full time AF. Sure the 1080i 60 fps has those lines but the 30fps will not and theres no need to shoot the Interlaced any way. Its 149 for the flash and there is a flash in the J1 already. Yes spray and pray is what this camera does.
