Here at CarSauce, we review every new car on the market. We are a community of sauce givers and we'd love for you to subscribe and join our community!

We give every car "the sauce", test their 0-100km/h, and see whether or not they are worth purchasing and spending your hard-earned cash on.

From time to time, we'll also buy a weird and wacky car and take you on the journey with me!

We release videos every Sunday 5pm AEST / AEDT with the latest new car reviews! Your feedback is important, so if you want to see us do something new or something you would like me to change let me know!

What a nonsensical review here. Bad headline too. I've driven a MG ZS EV Long range Luxury edition since december 2021 and I have to say: All lies. Best car I've ever driven, by far, and I've driven many rentals and lease-cars and whatnot. This review is simply incorrect. We barely have to charge the thing with its 69.9 kWh battery. What pleases me most about this car is that we can enter and leave the seats without needing to squeeze anything, it's so roomy and silent, it is fast too, at stoplights here in NL we pass by all others, I really don't see a flaw with it, aside from perhaps some efficiency because it is a little heavier and less streamlined. But here in NL we're not allowed to drive faster than 120 km/h anyway, mostly even 100 km/h max, so all speeds beyond that are useless.

These Chinese EV are now number 1 best in the world and BYD took over Tesla

Just a few notes: The Seal Performance will do 0-100 in 3.8 (yes under 3.9) every day of the week so I don't know what you did wrong. The only MG with a LFP battery is the base (best buy too) and the only one you can charge to 100% like the BYD. So basically you get the same usable KW as the next model up. The Seal(s) are far nicer finished inside than any of the MGs. If you drive a Seal you'll want to own one. Most reviewers do not drive one long enough to work out all the tricks to making it almost perfect (for the money) and a car you just want to drive. Pro tip: Some Aussie power plans now offer 3 hours per day all you can eat free power. This means 700km/week of free driving.

Good list and explanation on these 7 EVs, but the title does not match this video as you did not show any Chinese EVs to avoid.

I think my GWM Ora extended range got the first spot in my heart, I got it for $39, 990 only with less than 1500km on the clock..the booth space is a bit small for people who need to carry a lot of stuff everyday, but it’s enough for us to haul a week’s worth of groceries for 4 people with no problems

I'd go the entry level MG4 for the better battery that won't burn your house down

Hyundai and Kia need to lower their prices to compete, they are way way too expensive, I can get a Tesla for less than a Kia EV6

Personally I would go 1. Seal 2. Atto3 3. MG 4. Dolphin

Ok reasonable rankings...but seriously though, the MG4 interior is NOT premium, I had a good look a couple weeks ago and it was the absolute worst interior of any EV I had ever seen. It was cheap and nasty, "premium" is not a word I'd use to describe it.

I have sat in all these cars, and as I am 6’4” tall and in my seventies, there are only 2 that I can sit in comfortably. The BYD Atto 3 and the GWM Ora. All the others even the Dolphin feel incredibly small inside. The MG4 is like sitting in a pregnant skateboard! The Ora was ok, only 2 of us and a dog so not worried about space, but the GWM dealer in Hallam, Vic was more interested in selling Tank 300 than talk to me about electric cars. So we left them all and went home.

Downvoted. You're just talking about 7 cars with not many reasons to avoid (or is it buy, quite confusing) the cars.

the number one car is the one where we can at worst mod the software to make Lane Keep Assist STAY OFF FOREVER!!
MG missed the ball making the Essence version NMC only and not giving the LFP option. Those are my grips with the MG4 essence

slow charging is probably setup to avoid overheating issues

In my opinion, you should have mentioned the battery chemistry of the MG4 in your #1 position as being a 64kWHr battery as being NMC and not LFP. This is a huge dereliction on behalf of MG. For the uninitiated, an NMC - Nickle Manganese Cobalt battery - should only be charged to 80% not 100% like the battery in an Atto 3 for instance and has the potential to be a fire risk. There have been many EV fires with this battery chemistry and when I ordered my Atto 3 two years ago, it was the first thing I checked to make sure it wasn't an NMC traction battery. THIS REALLY IS A BIG DEAL.

The MG is your favourite car of 2024 how when 2024 has just begun?

MG4 51kWh should do very well this year, and i would seriously consider one in volcano orange. But BYD will bring their cheap Dolphin 60kWh this year so could get interesting

I'm more of a sedan guy, so I tend to gravitate towardst the BYD Seal. In Aussie, the base Dynamic starts at 49, 888 which is pretty compelling. It is heavy though, near 2 tonnes, which makes something like the Ora (Funky Cat) very interesting for weighing "only" 1500kg. That's positively feather-weight for an EV.

Overall I agree with the list, but might put the Seal Premium at the top of the list.

Matt, are you reviewing the GWM Tank 500 HEV ?

Click bait! All your positives about the Ora and it’s 6th on the list? Come on man! Throw it a bone. It’s about what you rate the car, not what you think people want. Becomes a self fulfilling prophecy!
