Its always easier to parallel park when you ignore friction.

1. Line up the rear of your car with the rear of the car in front of you.
2. Turn the wheel all the way in the direction you want to park and start backing up.
3. When you see the edge of the curb or you can read the entire license plate of the car behind you, straighten the wheel.
4. Reverse until you can't see the edge of the curb or you see that almost a quarter of the car is inside.
5. Turn the wheel all the way in the opposite direction where you want to park and start backing up.
Done, I know it sounds easier said than done. But it is a method that I had to practice a lot for my test.

the new driver method seems better but the old driver method is better in blocking other car from stealing your parking spot.

левый вариант для старых автомобилей, где не было гидроусилителя руля.
Правый вариант для современных автомобилей, руль легко можно вращать стоя на месте.
Я учился очень давно и на старых автомобилях, нас учили парковаться именно по левому варианту, потому что без гидроусилителя руля стоя на месте его неимоверно трудно поворачивать (летом).

I was taught in the 90's to pull up parallel to the front car, turn wheels to right and reverse until you're roughly beside the front car's rear corner, then straight up, and then turn wheels left once the front corner clears the front car's rear corner.
