How to Do Reverse Parking | #JustCallJimi

When you reverse park, do you re-adjust your car a few times? Did you know there is a technique that helps you reverse park - in 1 SHOT?

Locate the parking stall you want to park in. Turn on your signal to inform others you’re parking.

* REFERENCE POINT 1: 2nd Car’s Side Mirror or 2nd Stall Line
Drive forward and pass your target parking spot. Locate the car that is parked 2 stalls ahead of your target parking spot. Align your side mirror with the car’s side mirror that is farthest from your target parking spot. Make sure your car is about 2.5 to 3 feet (0.9 meter) away from the back of that car.

If this parking stall is vacant, you can instead align your side mirror with the stall’s side line that is farthest from your parking spot.

This point of reference works if you have an average compact or standard size car. If your car is much longer, you will need to drive up about 2.25 or 2.5 vehicles ahead, instead of just 2.

Now check your mirrors to make sure there are no other cars or people approaching.

* REFERENCE POINT 2: Turn your wheel all the way
Turn your wheel all the way towards your parking spot. Remember to keep checking for pedestrians and cars, while you are backing up.

* REFERENCE POINT 3: Turn your wheel 1.5x in the opposite direction
Back up until you’re straight and parallel with your spot. Then turn the wheel 1.5x in the opposite direction to straighten out your wheel. Continue to back up until you fit your spot. Good job. You did it!

I always using only this technique and it's work. I learned that in Pakistan from experienced drivers in karachi's downtown area, outside the schools and narrow roads and parking was on those narrow spaces.

45 degree parking method is crct and simple… else parking space will be taken and sometimes cars behind are impatient and will horn like hell

Its only applicable to long vehicles like pick ups on tight hallway parking but for sedan and suvs the basic step is when your side mirror is adjacent on the tail light or side mirror of the first car beside the parking spoy turn your wheel all the way to the right if the spot is on the left then if you can see on your side mirror that you are in the right angle turn your wheel all the way to the left then adjust or forward. First of all you should take a driving lesson before going to a parking because there is no room for mistake or else you will pay for damages

Seems a bit long winded. Just pull forward and out at an angle where you can see the car to the left or right of you you are going to park next to (dependent if left or right hand drive). Ensure you can see space either side of you as you back up next to one or if two cars there. Use side mirrors and dip them to help you see the space markings to ensure you're parked straight. Slow and controlled. Don't run anyone over who decides to try and wander behind you as you're backing up 😆

Heh, only do this kind of reverse parking when you go on a parking space very early or when you scout whole area and its clear on any incoming vehicle

Yeah this message is way back when the Flintstones use to petal their cars. That’s don’t work in 2022!! Once you past your or what you think is your spot by a fender, you’ll probably have a car on your butt and won’t let you back up🤦🏻‍♂️. Hint- don’t pass “the spot” that your planning to park in.. cuz someone will beat you before you think on backing up🤷🏻‍♂️.
