The mid-late 20th century sought out many new possibilities for the aviation industry and was the big break for many famous defunct legacy carriers, such as Pan Am or Eastern, and even TWA. TWA was one of the most iconic former legacy carrier airlines that struck their fame in the 1960s through the 1970s. Unfortunately, the airline faced its shocking downfall in the 80s and 90s and the drastic events of 9/11 caused the straw to break the camel’s back, ultimately resulting in TWA merging with American Airlines on December 1, 2001, but people at that point were not surprised. Some minor errors brought to my attention:
-Trans World Corporation wasn’t created in 1983 it was spun off in 1983 by Icahn.
-TWA had owned a part of Hilton but had to sell them for the maintenance and fuel costs.
