I like those 50’s era caddys.
Slab sided styling with the aerodynamics of a brick, fins that rival a jet liner, and the size and the handling of an aircraft carrier.

Simple awnser: they got too greedy cutting corners and stopped caring about the customers or products they put out.

GM logic: lets make one vehicle but put a different badge for every brand and now we have lots of vehicles!

My grandfather always had a Cadillac. Owning a Cadillac, especially in the black community, was a success symbol.

Cadillac, Lincoln and Buick suffered the same problems. Companies cheapened the brand. Not only in looks, but in performance. Kept the luxury price tag.

This whole piece doesn't even mention Cadillac's biggest contribution to the auto industry - the modern pedal layout - clutch, brake, accelerator ... It effectively standardized controls across the entire industry to this day....

One cool fact they left out, Cadillac was the first company which put the gas, break, and clutch in the pattern we know now.

What happened to Cadillac was that the aesthetic quality of the car went from land yacht to the quality of this presentation.

It's impressive how, consistently, when companies listen to their engineers they thrive, while when they are controlled by management tie-wearing, bonus-driven straw men, they completely crash.

Cadillac: at least we have the Escalade it’s a leader in its class
Lincoln: yeah about that, look at this 2018 navigator

My great grand father bought a 76 Cadillac, new, I said to him this is what I'm going to drive when I get older. Well I'm older, and I wouldn't be caught dead in the shit Caddy's they sell today.

Scotty Kilmer is more passionate talking about Cadillacs, and he *hates* GM.
