In this video we go over the lore of the Sunchildren of Enkanomiya. The Sunchildren were the puppet rulers of Enkanomiya and their lore is a rather sad one.

I find it poetic that they despised the sun children so much, and in the end, it took another child to find their liberator. For as much hate that the people had towards the children, very few took action to correct the mistake and even placed their freedom on the shoulders (even though he has none) of an outside god that they knew nothing about. If ignorance is a sin, does it work both ways?

their deaths are horrifying as it could be.. I can't even think about. How sick those rulers were with those sunchildren.
Now when I think about it, there is a similarity between those seven sunchildren and seven archons, don't you think. They are also manipulated by Celestia and forced them to do all the dirty work for them.

i love the parallels between the descriptions of the sunchildren and the archons. one plays a lyre and venti plays a lyre, etc.

i find it oddly disturbing, how this seven children were sacrificed and in a short span of time, the seven archons appeared... the first boys is surprinsingly similar to venti... sus

The children spirits look like unlit sky kids in another game called Sky the Children of the Light. Not to mention as both a Sky player and a Genshin player in Enkanomiya, when you try to ride the mantas and end up falling into the endless void. 😭😭

I really love the line about their ignorance not excusing their sins, I think it's a pretty novel way to approach something like this where the perpetrators are clearly vulnerable and being manipulated. You can't help but feel bad for them, right, they had really brutal deaths and by Piramumon's lines they had no idea what was going to happen to them, it's tragic. But also it is true that they still did horrible deeds, so you can't excuse it away. I really do think they are related to the archons too, Venti's story similarity with the Orpheus myth is something people have been pointing out since 1.0 and if the Dendro Archon theories are correct, then Asclepius matches him too.

After reading all the lore and stuff, I realise that the playable children actually have it easy...

I love how genshin depicted lots of culture in their lore. When we learn history, it is not new thing that children or virgins or slaves are the group of people that often used in sacrificial ceremony. Whether they see the groups as pure or just because they weak and has no protection. We also see in choungji lore the fate of children in war. Or ruu's fate in Thunderbird lore. All intertwined, the human ignorance, how they're trying to pretend they know what GOD wants (Thunderbird lore, higi village lore) and enacted hideous acts upon they misunderstanding of what GoD wants. Or just simply ignorance like the nobleman of enkanomiya, and using God pretense as a cause and tools to rule enkanomiya. No, genshin doesn't hate children, they just depicted how the world treat children, quite accurately in my opinion. Some live happy life, some unhappy with trivial matters, some have to fight just to survive, some doesn't even have options.

i feel like saying ignorance is a sin is itself showing ignorance of the people. the children were CHILDREN!! their ignorance is to be expected. all ppl are ignorant when they are born and to think that it's a sin to be a child and be ignorant is to say that being alive is to sin.

These whole ass adults blaming children for being too “ignorant” to everything going on around them. THEY ARE CHILDREN. These poor babies had no say in how their lives would unfold, they had no one and nothing to cling to. Then on top of that they died horrible deaths.

I couldn’t decide which was more messed up. Ruu, Or Chouji, but the sun children take the cake for me.

This game’s lore is top notch, here I thought Sangonomiya’s ancestors were victims, but uh maybe not as much?

When I comes down to it they are victims just like Xiao. They were forced to do heinous acts out of their own will in this case knowledge and will. They were children being used as scapegoats by self-centered adults. The kids were smart and the adventurous was putted quickly he had to much of a free thinking mind and asked the right questions which they didn't want. The resistance in Enkanomiya were complete utter tools. They're leader got captured and there solution was to make and sell drugs aware of the side effects it entails also partake in it instead of using it to their advantage. They allowed themselves to be sedated and loose purpose. I don't feel sorry for those lost souls we met except for Antie and the guy who made the damn light for those ungrateful fools in the fist place and the children. Everyone else was trying to ease their conscience cause they did nothing to stop it.

OMG i just unlocked enkonimya, and i knew i had to search "enkonimya lore"....im so glad i stumbled upon this video, i would never understand what actually is going on with those kids and probably just say "eeeh just some annoying ghost kids " .

Im convinced that Paimon is related to Piramumon, like maybe a a figment of Piramumon's soul or something... because first her name is somewhat close to Piramumon (like if someone misremembers "Piramumon" and ends up coming up with "Paimon" instead). Paimon was fished by traveller from a body of water which is how Enkanomiya is accessed: through the whirpool in Watatsumi's island.

I haven't talked to the NPC yet, but seeing the dialogue now and how the Sunchild mentions that they will find a way to sneak out from the ritual and how they love fruits juice, it just made me even more suspicious...

Piramumon's final words to the traveler deeply saddened me. He innocently thought it was just a "festival"... little did he know he wouldn't even be able to return and have fruit juice like he said he wanted. I'm so sad, I'm gonna cry now

Well lets see their parallels with the Archons:

Orupeusu = Venti: Wise / Poetic, Themes of Death, Honoring Friendship, Songs & The Lyre, Grievances (quite obvious, additional his waiting for someones return, might be Istaroth 😢)

Surepio = Egeria/Focalor: Emphatic, Theme of Fate, Cruel Fate, Desperate Fight, Saving others from Fate (at first I though Rukh, but in essence he was similar to Egeria/Focalor desiring to save them from their impending doom)

Risutaiosu = Zhongli: Objective / Observant, Imitating Someone Craft, Created Many Things, Criticize Others Work, Knowledgeable of Many Things (some are obvious, imitating/learning to someone maybe Guizhong 😢, also he created a body for Azdaha)

Isumenasu = Ei: Stuborn, Theme of Comflicting Views, Boat & Ocean (I am thinking about the Tsaritsa but I remember about Ei and its Flawed View)

Rikoru = Pyro Archon: Proud/ Competitive, Theme of Constant Competition (I think it is the Pyro Archon, because of his competitive spirit)

Ion = Rukhadevata/Nahida: Theme Ignorance, Ignorance is Bliss, Truth Interfered or Hided (I switched it to Rukh, because of some similarities valuing Ignorance)

Piramumon = Cryo Archon: Theme the Outside World, Desire to know the Truth, Probably Desire for others know to (well it was the last, obviously its the Tsaritsa but still innocent & bright 😢)
