The Best Cars, Best Trucks, And Best SUVs of 2024 | Car and Driver 10Best

Our ultimate comparison test is the annual 10Best awards. Once again, we gathered every new and significantly changed vehicle we could get our hands on with a base price below $110,000. What makes 10Best distinct is that we bring back the reigning winner to compete against the new challengers, allowing the former to defend their spots on the list. By mixing last year's best with everything new, the 10Best list represents the best cars for sale this year and not just the best of what's new.

We spent two weeks driving the entire field, moving from one vehicle to the next, stopping only to take notes or discuss the vehicle with our fellow editors. Voting differs from our other comparison tests in that 10Best boils down the entire vehicle to a number between 1 and 100 instead of scoring various categories. In a nod to how it's done in figure skating, we toss the highest and lowest scores before the testing team puts the rest into a spreadsheet to determine the 10Best Cars and the 10Best Trucks and SUVs. Trucks, SUVs, and everything not-cars are the market's preferred body styles, and our annual 10Best awards celebrate our favorites in this sprawling category.

Our annual awards cut through the clutter to find the 10 cars and the 10 trucks and SUVs that live up to their purpose while delivering incredible value and a great driving experience.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to appreciate what the new Trax does for car buyers. I spent a few days with one and didn't hate my time in it.

I tell everyone its the perfect vehicle for someone who doesn't want anything in particular aside from great mileage and a low price tag. It's decently comfortable and accommodating, and spacious enough for most daily usage. Props to Chevy for that one.

Make $30k the limit. A $50k Integra is silly. Higher, even if they are good, they are simply inaccessible novelty.

As for EVs, most, until the prices drop, are uninteresting novelty.

Trucks may have some COTY candidates, but the COVID era price increases drive most to the unoptainable atmosphere.

🤣🖐ever notice how reviewers “love” the cars they have possession of for one hour? Besides test drives, I always visit dealership service waiting areas, sit down as if I’m waiting too and ask others how they like their car. Most honest reviews ever.

Where are the BMW's? We test drove (used) Honda Civic, Honda Accord, & Subaru Outback, & ended up with a bmw 3-series, which was in the same price range. After a year, we are very happy with it.
