What is Appendicitis? A real case of Burst Appendix.

In this video, I’m going to teach you about a complicated case of acute appendicitis. What can happen when the Appendix ruptures? It is a life-threatening surgical emergency.

First, I’ll show you how and why the appendix gets inflamed. Then I’ll show you why it can get ruptured.

Next, I’ll briefly explain the symptoms and the pathophysiology, including the referred pain seen in Acute appendicitis.

Some patients develop Diarrhea and Dysuria with Appendicitis. Don’t worry! You’ll learn the exact causes for those symptoms as well.

Then, I’ll show you How doctors examine patients with appendicitis, and the investigations they order to diagnose the condition.

Finally, I’ll teach you the management options, such as antibiotics therapy, and surgical options, including open vs. laparoscopic appendectomies.

I had appendectomy at 16 I was constipated for several days before going to hospital my appendix was rotten and gangreus. Sorry spelling.
The muscle was sutured but it was mainly left open for drainage and cleaning. So painful and the only pain meds taken were the shots for 3 days after surgery. They told my family I might get worse and require more surgeries.
My Dr. Was amazing and no further surgeries were required.
I'm so very thankful to that Dr.
I had problems with a little infection during the healing process .
I found allowing shower water to cleanse the opening worked very well to stop the infection.

I just had my appendix removed Sunday night. I started with pain Saturday afternoon in my appendix area, the 1 symptom that alarmed me was the COMPLETE LOSS OF APPETITE. I ate saturday at 10am. And Sunday at 12:20pm i wasn't hungry AT ALL. Caught it early.

I had the same feeling years ago & when i got an appointment at the gpa at the nearest hospital & my fears was punctured as the blood test was negative (one poke in the finger told a lot).

I think my appendix burst three weeks ago because I had a fever of over 101, body aches, nausea(but no vomiting) missed three days of work and then went to the ER followed by my gynos office because of intense right side pain..long story short, my gyno went into my abdomen on 5/22/2023 to try and locate my right ovary and supposed cyst on that ovary, but couldn't locate either of those nor my appendix..as it was just gone..

I had my appendicitis surgery done laproscopicly a few days ago still some inflammation around the incisions i wouldve needed open surgery if my age wasnts this young i was pretty scared but it doesn't hurt it was 7 mm in diameter and 21 cm LONG so it could have burst if i waited even for 2 days so yea (sorry for my bad English)

Only puss and infection is removed. Surgery to remove the appendix will be done shortly
