Best quote I heard recently is "people aren't living longer these days, they're just not dying when they normally would have in the past".

I was headed that way but discovered keto. Got rid of the chronic high insulin. Sugar. Starches and carbs which leads to all metabolic issues. This guy is right.
And intermittent fasting is a big part of healing the metabolic system.

The doctor's advice, particularly Sleep is spot on. The problem with society today is Lack of Sleep and healthy sleep patterns. I lack proper sleep patterns, for many years . At 71 YO, I am unable to get 7 - 8 hours of restful sleep. Unfortunately, from young adulthood, I never did. I suffer with Chronic pains and terrible stiffness from Spinal Arthritis and the affects to the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems. I have found from personal research is that Sleep is vital for weight regulation. It's probably the single main reason why I can't Lose weight!

My grandfather passed at 92. I remember ice scaring with him in his mid 80s. When asked how he does it his answer was always…Never take an elevator, always take the stairs.

Fitness literacy is so important, I almost wish P.E. was even more basic just to showcase how little is needed. If we essentially boiled fitness literacy into the 3 basics. Bodyweight Squat, Push Up, and Pull Up. Perform them as a circuit EMOM.

Squats=2Xs As Many Reps as Push Ups
Push Ups 2Xs As Many Reps as Pull Ups.

It's that simple, there are regressions to all of these exercises accessible to anybody who is medically deemed to exercise.

Handling your own bodyweight with 3 basic movement patterns, and chaining them together and learning to perform them for time condensed within a minute to gauge your productivity on a minute by minute basis, and then sustaining that productivity for multiple minutes is so easy and basic of a goal to strive towards.

Maxing out the parameters of repetitions that can be condensed within a minute

20 Squats, 10 Push Ups, 5 Pull Ups
Seems to be a challenging but achievable goal.

Just 30 minutes a that a day is 600 Squats, 300 Push Ups and 150 Pull Ups in total. That would change people's lives and develop immense strength and cardio.

If a basic P.E. class was focused on those 3 movements or regression thereof, and then the rest of the class just be disorganized physical activity, you would have a much more fitter youth culture.

My grandmother lived long life. Was very active, slim and fit . Hated to sit for longer periods of time. But she got Altzheimers. … She loved sugar and ate 10 scoops of sugar in one sitting.

Just a thought
I have almost eliminated processed foods seed oils and sugar from my diet in the process of doing so I find I can’t stop myself from exercising lifting dumbbells stretching and walking. When you feed yourself good natural whole food foods including home grown beef pork chicken your body naturally becomes motivated to workout. I’m a 58 year old commercial truck driver I work 70 hours a on the road 5.5 days a week sit 10+ hrs a day driving. I have reduced my waist by over 5” I have not had a cold or flu symptoms since 2019. Please stop eating the corporate highly processed foods and pharmaceutical products it’s keeping us sick and unhealthy
