how do they all so consistently completely miss the point of the entire show
saying "i don't like the main character because he is flawed" about a psychological anime is like saying "i don't like the main character because he resolves conflicts with fights" on a review of a shonen
like do they realise what show they're getting into here??

Thing is, if any one of us weebs gets transported to another world, 80% of the time we are gonna totally act like Subaru. This is why they hate him: Subaru is the most realest depiction of an otaku so out of touch with reality and it hurts when watching him.

This was by far the most frustrating video I've ever watched....take my like and subscribe lol. On a serious note using the term "generic" on this show is complete ignorance. Re:Zero was one of the early isekais. Everyone who is saying Subaru has no character development is ignorant and probably hasn't ever had a bad thing happen in there life so they can't relate to a depressed main character. They can't see how the dark part of life feels and seeing return by death as a resurrection power but it's so much more than that. He feels pain and agonizing loss. He can't relay any of it to anyone. He's alone even when he is with others. I've read all the way to the end of arc 5 in the web novel and He's still developing. This series is gold and is my favorite series. It has been for years and that's because of Subarus development and especially since we get the if stories of what he could have become with slight alternatives of choice. I'm not saying this series is for everyone however anyone competent enough to invest and understand the series will surely fall in love with it. Sorry for the rant 😅

Dude the guy at 6:10 was basically entirely right about Subaru being a self-centered idiot and laid out how he was deluding himself with his pretentions of righteousness, but he DIDN'T WATCH LONG ENOUGH TO SEE THAT THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT!

AND THEN!

Then he talks about how he read a synopsis of the rest of the season and says "maybe the wiki [...] wasn't very detailed, and right after the part I stopped Subaru completely changed, "

How can you get this close to the truth and then miss it completely?! I mean he didn't completely change but he at least got a little bit of self-awareness.

Started out really strong. But Subaru kept on being a constant big crybaby loser. Why is he traumatized? Just reset OMEGALUL. It would have been better if he was op like Kirito.
