I just bought the Fire Chief FC1000E, can I burn without a grate to put the wood on, just let it burn right on the bricks?

I know your videos are a tad older now but how often do you have to fill them? I had an older tractor supply model that i filled about 3 times a day and of course depending on the type of wood. Some ive seen last 10-12 hours per fill. Important for me to know that if you guys could help out.

I been thinking of going to a wood boiler in my garage to a water to air exchanger in my hot air furnace in my basement my question is how does this furnace compare to a gasification funace? Another question off point a little but is Sarah taken or married I'd take a pretty women like her out.
