I was looking at this unit but see it is discontinued with the FC 1720 but I don't see any information on the new unit. Where should I look?

Hi can you show the inside of the firebox. I'll be purchasing this in August. And could you show for people like myself that will be owning wood burning item for the 1st time what the 1st thing that we should do from stepp 1, 2 and 3. Because heard somebody else says you should burn outside the house 1st burn before you burn it for the 1st time . Otherwise it creates smoke in the house . So could you please tell us everything we need to know . I would feel comfortable to purchase it. Thank you!

Just a quick question, I just bought this stove and read that blower cabinet on back needs to be at least 12 inches from wall. Have you had any trouble with yours being very close to wall?

Bought one of these, to replace an old Ashley, worst decision ever, constantly smokes even with following the instructions. Also leaks air at all seams, there is ash residue at every seam. Very unhappy and the company I bought it from will not answer or respond.

Not real happy with my fire chief put in in 06 quit burning it in 07. Paid big bucks for it kept plugging my chimney. Alot of work cleaning chimney and keeping up with the wood hog.

My Dad has one of these that replaced an Air Blast wood furnace. He isn't too happy with it and he says it leaks a lot of air and only gets about 4 hours out of a burn instead of 10 hours like was stated when he bought it. I use the same wood and get at least 6 hours in my old ass wood stove that needs firebrick replacement and baffle board replacement. The Thermostat doesn't seem to regulate temperature too much either as it is always too hot in their house when he has a fire going. I recently bought a Drolet heat commander for my basement to heat my whole house. The wood stove in the corner of the house doesn't heat my bedroom much at all. Hopefully what I have read about it is true and it is better than this firechief.

Been burning wood for heat a long time. Have had one of these units for less than a year and used it under very reasonable circumstances. Smoke was coming out of the back of it for a reason the warranty people didn't even know. Also the corners of the wood inlet door are cracked but the cracked face of the stove is of course not covered by warranty because then they would have to build a better product or fix their mistakes.... Unfortunately that is not the world we live in...
