Great video-I’m 64 years old and growing up with wood and coal heat-can’t get any better heat 👍

just found your review. I got my unit in 2022 and ran it all year. running it about the same way. very happy so far. I do have it ducted into the hot air piping( oil system ductwork) heat side only. no cold air return. just using the door to the down stairs and filter on back of fire chief. good job on the review

nice review. I bought the same furnace around november also from L&M. I did tie into my existing ductwork. I have not used my oil furnace since I put in the fire chief. so far I love it also. great little furnace. I typically load it up 2 times per day. once about 7PM and then in the morning before I go to work at 3AM. house temps range between 65-71 loading that way for me.

Cedar kindling will cure that initial smoke. Starts fast.

I have the shelter version of this stove and i installed a draft inducer on the flue pipe and it stopped the smoke out the door

We have a fire chief 700 dual, wood and coal, indoor furnace (we only burn wood). We installed it in 2014 and we have around 2000 sq ft. No complaints at all. Haven’t had to use our propane secondary unless we go on vacation. Exceptional furnace for us.

I just installed one in my house, hooked up to duct work, thermostat whole nine, however the circulation blower will not stay on for more than 30 seconds in auto? Any suggestions?

I have this furnace working well. Thanks for the info. Quick question: What to do in case of an overfire? How to shut down quickly?

I’m curious, do you feel air coming from the sides of the face and rear of the furnace? I inherited the same stove with a house I bought and I’m not sure if he ruined it. There seems to be some warping in the air vents where the blower air comes from inside the door as well as the top weld on the door frame is cracked.

Because the power can go out, I'd just push the white button all the way in, if it burns out, the hot ash still pushes warm air for up to 12 hours. Depends how cold it is outside, near 1 degree it kept 60 degrees cold!

Hi, I just had the furnace installed and tried to fire it up. Any tips on getting this thing going? I did not see any fire bricks on the bottom (under your wood) of your furnace when you opened the door. Should I temporarily leave the ash door open when first starting and turn on the small/front blower? Also what should the 3 pins (inside the thermometer) be set at? Thanks

When does your draft blower turn on and off? If your house is 72 degrees but your thermostat is set at 74 will that draft blower running until it hits 74?
