My goodness! That's overkill! Anyhow, I haven't viewed Oppenheimer, yet I came here anyway. That's the only cinema I would have paid to watch, but I think I'll wait until it comes out on television later. I heard that it was excellent.

Not all H bombs are more powerful than all A bombs.
Some A bombs have yielded as high as 500kt, true H bombs have yielded as low as 40kt, and some neutron bombs, a specialised type of H-bomb, yield as little as 1kt.
All H bombs also rely on fission, not only fusion. In some designs, the majority of the energy is from fission. The Tsar bomba test yield 56.8Mt, not 50.

Question: nuclear power and the atomic bomb are based on fission (splitting atoms). How can the hydrogen bomb be based on “fusion”? Thought fusion was completely elusive to us at the moment
