When Tsar Bomba was tested, they had it set to 50 Megatons rather than 100 to make sure nobody died.

The MOAB is not a nuke, it's a conventional warhead that is just absolutely massive.

Fun fact: Even after lowering the Tsar Bomba to 50 megatons rather than 100, the shockwave circled the earth 3 times

For anyone wondering, the MOAB is both not a nuclear weapon and not actually called the “mother of all bombs” it’s non-nuclear and actually stands for “massive ordnance air blast”

MOAB and FOAB aren’t nuclear weapons, they’re just really big bombs

The MOAB is actually a blimp that monkeys attack with darts

Castle Bravo was not "dropped", it was an experimental thermonuclear bomb built on an island and was way too big to be dropped from an airplane. It also went horribly wrong due to a miscalculation regarding Lithium 7 that they thought was inert but actually fed the reaction.

Fun fact: Tsar was supposed to be 100 Mt instead of 50 Mt, but the inventor had nightmares of it

The Tsar Bomba was actually tested at half power. I think it was tested at half power because of the worry that it might punch a hole through the atmosphere and set part of it on fire or something like that. All I know is that it could be even more giant.

Fun fact: During the Castle Bravo testing in 1954, a Japanese tuna fishing boat was actually nearby the explosion and was contaminated by the nuclear fallout. All the crew members later died from radiation poisoning, or had their lifespan shortened by it. The boat's name was "Daigo Fukuryu Maru" (or you could call it Lucky Dragon, which the incident is named after.) The ship is currently decontaminated and stored in a museum today.
