I really hope thats not your argument, and just what the companies say, because flaring is cheap, and that's seemingly the only reason its done.

Pipelines are a thing and are often incredibly long, but are expensive to build (which hasnt stopped other companies from doing so). Secondly, ive seen numerous plants and refineries flaring a good ~2 Miles away from any sort of population,
So ample incentive to build a small gas powerplant and feed existing infrastructure...

That shows how rediculous bitcoin mining is. You burn energy just to generate numbers that people think are worth something. Sure that's how money works but the amount of electricity wasted to mine this shit is rediculous.
