Looks like a peak of 9.25kVA when starting. Really impressive on the EU7000is! FYI: If your solar panels are grid tie, they will sync up with an inverter generator because the frequency output is stable enough. Tested this before! Thanks for the vid.

I have the same generator with a 14 seer 2-1/2 ton Trane air conditioner only. My A/C is 16 years old. I do have a variable speed fan air handler.
I saw the cold load pick up reach 8250 watts in your video. The generator is rated for 7000 watts surge. 5500 watts continuous. I couldn’t start my A/C with the same scenario. I had to have the hard start capacitor installed to start & run it. We live in the Northeast. We were impacted by the recent tropical storm that plunged most of Connecticut in the dark. We lost power for three days. We were able to run my entire 1600 sqft. house with the A/C on with the Honda eu7000is. The generator performed flawlessly. This was the first long duration outage we ever had. We burned 30 gallons of gas in three days. We conserved fuel by opening the windows at night for two of the nights because it was cool out. The overnight usage was 2 gallons for the rest of the house. With the A/C on at night we burned 5 gallons of gas. You can’t rent a room in a hotel for the cost of the fuel for this generator. All our neighbors had to throw out their food. My wife was able to run laundry & relax in the cool & conduct business as usual.
What was I doing? I was sleeping during the day. Then restoring power to the residents of Connecticut the rest of the time as a lineman for the local power company.

This is my dream generator but 5k is a lot of money. I bet it’s worth every penny when you can safely run all of your sensitive electronics on it in an emergency though. What’s the purpose of the hard start kit you’re showing at 2:13? I was thinking about getting a portable AC unit for my bedroom as my central AC is 4 tons. Thanks

What’s gonna happen if that generator needs to be serviced by a Honda guy or whatever. It weighs a ton. I don’t think I could bring it home from the store for that matter. LOL it seems to be a good fit for my needs but the weight is an issue and I doubt I will not have to take it in etc. engines always need professional work. I guess I could do the oil changes spark plug and filter changes. Anything else I wouldn’t have a clue. I guess these guys can come to your house and service it perhaps? Or maybe this thing is that good it won’t ever break?? I was thinking buying two or three of the 2200 portable generators.
