The choice for me comes down to which company actually has customer service so you don’t have a $2500 250lb paper weight. Predator requires a $650 warranty if you want more than 90 days, but if you live near a Harbor Freight they will give you a new one, once, but you can then renew the warranty. Northern Tool also has real stores for the Powerhorse. If you are lucky, Genmax and Duromax will send you parts for home repair.

Good video & thanks for sharing the information.

Yesterday I test ran my Harbor Freight's new Predator 9500 / 7600 watt - 30 amp per leg generator which I had wired into my condo's electric panel. It performed better than I could have hoped for. Prior to this test I hooked up the Mirco-Air Easy Start to my AC compressor which lowered my starting amps from 69 amps to an average of 21 amps! The running amps was also lowered, now averaging only 8.0 amps.
I ran the AC at full blast along with 2 refrigerators, all the lights & ceiling fans, a large dehumidifier and was only drawing 15 amps on one leg and 13 amps on the other and this was over a 130 foot length of #8 wire from the generator to my electric panel then another 100 foot of #8 wire to my outside AC compressor! In fact I had the ESC Mode (Electronic Throttle Speed Control) on the generator turned on and it still ran at the lower RPM and never needed to kick itself up to the higher rpm to handle the load. Just amazing!

My vote is the Genmax dual fuel. Awesome video! Keep up the great work!

Great video as always. For most people to run a central AC home unit a soft start kit would be required to reduce the surge of power at compressor at start-up. Just an FYI.

The most important thing I want to know about a generator is how reliable it is. Of course, that is the hardest thing to find out.

I just bought a Champion model 201159 generator for home backup power after doing some research. Champion is a well established company, they seem to have a track record of experience. I considered the Predator 9000 watt inverter. But Champion just seemed like a better option. The model I bought has a 50 amp outlet. I'm not an expert, but I don't know why Champion isn't represented here. Is it regional (lack of) exposure?
I like the Predator, but it's only a couple years old and it seems like it's a little dated. The generator industry seems like it's changing rapidly with more advance features becoming available. The generator industry is growing fast. Probably mine will be outdated next month. But looks like it's good enough.

Hey G'
Those are some big boys!!!
I think the Powerhorse would be my choice because of great noise level... Very good info👍🏾

I always love watching your videos, so darn much information! Thank you for what you do.
You have most of your generators hooked up to your RV. Now let's see you move to the next level and hook them up to your house..Just remember to keep them generators off that nice grass.🙂👍

Great intro to these. Thanks, Gavin. Hopefully, fuel availability will not become a critical issue when the time comes. Have you ever thought about diving into the solar arena? We may need that info sorted out, as well.

Very good. I do wonder if those companies donated them for testing ? You are the best on YouTube.

I see Honda in every movie production in the middle of the boondocks or in a NYC trailer. Reliability is the #1 priority for anyone. What's the point of having a generator if it will stop working when needed

With either one of these, Should i have a 30amp or 50amp inlet installed for home back up? At the moment I have the champion 4500DF I wanted to use. But if I get a 50amp installed, can I still use the Champion. Really looking into the GENMAX.

You should do give always if you have many generators .. that would greatly increase your followers and your make your channel gain popularity

the Wen DF875ix checked every box for me and is 1/2 the price of these. Open frame inverter, dual fuel, floating neutral. Yes it’s louder but in a true backup emergency scenario I dont care.

Whats the difference between this Durmax 9000 you show here and the Duramax 9000 you have shown in other videos? This one is the newer model that only has three plugs and is missing that fourth plug that you see in your other videos featuring the Duramax. Just curious what changed and when. Thanks for the video!
